Microsoft and Iron Galaxy Studios have announced that the second season of Killer Instinct will begin October 15. The initial release will come with the two new characters - TJ Combo and Maya - and six more will be released, one each month thereafter.

You can either buy the characters you want for $4.99/£3.99/€4.99 or everyone in the Combo Breaker Edition for $19.99/£16.99/€19.99. There is also an Ultra Edition that boasts extra costumes and Killer Instinct 2 Classic for $39.99/£34.99/€39.99.

On top of that, Iron Galaxy Studios had more good news for Killer Instinct fans. It turns out the highly praised (and rightly so) composer Mick Gordon will return to score season two. The soundtracks for the first season of Killer Instinct and the original Killer Cuts soundtrack that once was bundled with the Super Nintendo version of the game will be sold separately. They are to be released on September 23.

The very same day a retail version of Killer Instinct season one will also launch, and it'll include all the fighters that were released digitally. If you buy that one, you will get early access to TJ Combo from season two.

Killer Instinct

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"Killer Instinct is a technically complicated fighter, and it's deep despite the shallow pool of characters."
