F1 2014 is races towards store shelves this October, and as seen with the most recent Codemasters titles, the PC version should run even on older computers since it's still based on the familiar PS3 and Xbox 360 compatible Ego engine, which powers Dirt 3, Grid 2 and the previous entries in the F1 series, among others.

Official system specs list old-age AMD HD 2600 and Nvidia Geforce 8600 graphics cards as the minimum, although HD 6000 series or GTX 500 series is recommended for optimal gameplay. Still, not too demanding compared to other new PC games.

The game will be compatible even with integrated graphics solutions from Intel HD 3000 and AMD Fusion A8 upwards.

Alongside F1 2014 Codemasters is also making a next-gen F1 for PS4, Xbox One and PC which should be ready early next year. We expect the system specs to be higher for that one, as it will introduce a completely new game engine with improved visuals, physics and AI.

But for now, here is the minimum spec for F1 2014:

OS: Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz or AMD Athlon X2 5400+
Graphics: AMD HD2600 or NVIDIA Geforce 8600
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 15 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible soundcard

And here's the recommended:

OS: Windows Vista 64 bit, Windows 7 64 bit or Windows 8 64 bit
Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD FX Series
Graphics: AMD HD6000 Series/Nvidia GTX500 Series minimum 1GB RAM
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 20 GB available space
Sound Card: Direct X compatible soundcard
