As we looked for interesting indie titles in the IndieCade booth at E3 we came across Thralled on Ouya - a game that deals with something as serious as slavery. Creative director Miguel Oliveira and artist Tiffanie Mang talked to us about the game, slavery and more.

"I wouldn't necessarily say that Thralled is fun, you know, but it is engaging," says Oliveira. "Cause fun is a little bit of a complicated word, because we're talking about slavery."

"It's not a thing of the past. It still happens. And racism, you know, it stems from this practice," says Oliveira of the importance of speaking about slavery and its history.

Mang spoke of the painterly look the game has and its importance given the serious themes the game deals with.

Thralled is exclusive on Ouya for six months, but after that the team will look into bringing it to other platforms.
