We caught up with a couple of producers, Michael Murray and Daisuke Murano, on Bandai Namco's upcoming online 2-on-2 brawler Rise of Incarnates.

The talk focused on player feedback and how they're trying to highlight that fact that it's not just a fighting game and a shooter glued together.

"It is a new IP so we thought people would be a bit more skeptical," said Murray. "So that really isn't there as much, it was more about people actually seeing the vision that we're going after."

Murray also detailed the two new characters revealed at E3 - Brynhildr and Odin ("they're quite unique").

As far as monetisation in the future the idea is for it to be mainly focused on cosmetic items and without mentioning any names it would appear they're modelling it after Team Fortress 2.

Given the various backgrounds of the team members and the heritage in fighting games Bandai Namco has we then asked them if there's input from other teams such as the Tekken and Soul Calibur teams.

"It's easy to hear the feedback [from other nearby teams]," says Murano and Murray continued: "Daisuke himself was on the Soul Calibur franchise, myself you know most people know me from Tekken as a game designer, but it's very close knit. With the executive producer Baba-san his Gundam team is very close by. So the people that balance those games sometimes we have them come check it out, give us their ideas. It's not that we're trying to make Gundam, you know, it's our own game. But it is valuable feedback. I take it to some of my Tekken guys and say 'hey, man, what do you think? pick this up and check it out'. I don't give them any info I just let them go at it, see what they do with it. We have a lot of resources to gain feedback from. And it is interesting and that is being implemented in the game."

Rise of Incarnates is heading towards a beta that kicks off August 8 (and runs until August 18) and later this year towards its full launch.
