NewBee has taken home the the largest prize in gaming at this year's grand final of The International, the Dota 2 tournament hosted by Valve that carried with it a $10 million dollar prize fund.

NewBee, who will go home $5 million dollars richer, won the best-of-five final 3-1, despite losing the first game to their fellow Chinese team and opponents, ViCi.

Runners-up ViCi secured a healthy second-place prize of nearly $1.5 million, while third-place North American team, Evil Geniuses, won around $1 million.

All in all the tournament was a success for Valve, who managed to raise the considerable prize pool thanks to fans purchasing The Compendium (an online guide that acted as companion to the tournament). The tournament, which took place in Seattle, was the fourth so far, but the first to have a prize fund that passed the $10 million mark.
