As we reported just the other day, Akira from Sega's Virtua Fighter franchise is making the crossover leap to the next installment in the Dead of Alive series.

Fighter fans will be happy to hear that he may not be alone. Yosuke Hayashi, head of Team Ninja, revealed to Famitsu this week that it was he who asked Sega if he could include Akira in the game.

The report on andriasang didn't provide quotes, but did say that: "because they're going to all the trouble of holding this collaboration, Akira probably won't be the only character. It's unclear if he means we'll get more Virtua Fighter characters, or if he's referring to other franchises."

The inclusion of Akira is exciting enough, but the possible addition of even more characters from Virtua Fighter makes Dead or Alive 5 a very exciting proposition.

REVIEW. Written by Jonas Mäki

"After having spent the previous month with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 it becomes obvious how dated Dead or Alive 5 feels."
