Apple claims 25 billion downloads

Apple are currently celebrating the download of over 25 billion apps on iPhone and iPad. To mark the event, Apple has released charts documenting the most popular apps to have been downloaded on each platform.

The most popular paid-for app on iPhone is Angry Birds, whilst Facebook proved to be the most popular free app. Over on iPad, Pages was the most popular paid for app (with Angry Birds HD coming in second), and the BBC iPlayer was the most downloaded freebie.
