343 used Microsoft Showcase to tentatively reveal some of the first details of Master Chief's return in Halo 4.
While you can read our in-depth impressions elsewhere on the site, you can get a look at the first high-res in-game screens of the new Master Chief model crafted by 343 right here.
As we stated from our preview, based on 343 Industries explanations:
"To say the studio's done a Batman would be too strong. But there's a more realistic look to Master Chief that visually details the workings of Spartan armour to a degree that recalls the Dark Knight's carefully constructed armour: every piece, every bolt.
The bulk's gone, the shoulder to neck pads more curved and elongated, and the meshed fabric below the armour parts now has texture. It's a streamlining that's applied to the multiplayer avatars as well, 343 ushering in the era of the Spartan Mark IV, multiple helmet designs recalling variants in Reach, but a chassis sleekness that reminds of the Master Arts M.C figurine and the Neon Genesis Evangelion EVAs.
This is how a super-soldier of the 26th Century should look."
Enjoy. And welcome back John.
