New Uncharted multiplayer mode

Naughty Dog has announced that a new multiplayer mode for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, is coming next month. The Co-Op Shade Survival mode will be downloadable at some point in March, and will showcase Uncharted's graphics at their peak.

In their recent announcement, Naughty Dog talked about the Flashback Map Pack (which launches today in the US): "maps have all-new dynamic lighting effects, innovative particle effects and tons of other fresh technical polish that only the Uncharted 3 engine could allow."

"The lighting on every map has been completely redone by the artists here at Naughty Dog. This map pack provides a good look at the technical and gameplay shine we can put on Uncharted 3 multiplayer maps and foreshadows what you'll be seeing in new DLC coming out over the next couple months."

There are no further details on the Shade Survival mode, only this screen shot. There's only so much you can tell from a picture, but using the refined lighting and particle effects mentioned above, Naughty Dog has created what looks like an incredibly polished new game type. Let's hope it plays as good as it looks when it comes out next month.
