One of the biggest announcements at this year's Eve Fanfest was the planned summer release of Kronos, an upcoming overhaul to the industrial edge of CCP's space-faring MMO, Eve Online, with the aim being to further improve "accessibility, diversity and meaning in industrial gameplay."

Kronos will also represent the shift from the current rollout of content from twice yearly drops to around ten per year, as CCP look to significantly increase the amount of new content they're delivering to their enduring MMO.

The plan for this first injection of content is to create "dynamic shifts in the industrial landscape by adding cost-scale differences, specialized workers and teams, changes to reprocessing," and as always, player actions will feed into the wider ecosystem. There'll also be new Mordu's Legion ships and a new mining frigate, as well as a new in-game store. Kronos will be available to subscribers (and trial users) from June 3.

"The new cadence of development will allow us to take on bigger, more ambitious features, deliver content at an increased pace, and give our players even more to look forward to," said Eve's senior producer, Andie Nordgren. "Kronos is the perfect release to kick off the series of upcoming changes as it provides the foundation for the colonization dreams of player empires we're working towards-epic sci-fi construction projects that lead to new parts of the universe."
