It's not an unexpected move if we're honest, but Ubisoft has today confirmed that those who play Watch Dogs on PC will have to navigate Ubisoft's divisive Uplay client.
"Like some of our other AAA releases, including Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag," a Ubisoft rep told IGN, "Watch Dogs will be available on Steam and will leverage Uplay to support the games services."
As we said, it's not a huge surprise that this is happening. Perhaps it's only noteworthy because there seems to be such animosity towards Ubisoft's PC client. Will the Uplay requirement be enough to put people off picking up Watch Dogs when it releases on May 27? We very much doubt it.
