Blizzard have revealed that they're working on Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for Xbox One, but confirmed that while the port of the game is in development, the studio has no plans to release it as yet.

"I don't know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can't really comment on what that contract looks like," Diablo 3 lead producer Alex Mayberry told Videogamer. "The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run."

The lead producer said that "it makes more sense" to develop for both platforms, even though no Xbox One version has been agreed with Microsoft at this time: "We have that pipeline worked out. We've already done it with the 360 and PS3, so that team knows how to develop at the same time for both of those platforms. That's just what we do. And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out."

Diablo III expansion Reaper of Souls is set to hit PC and Mac tomorrow, and will follow sometime thereafter on PlayStation 4. When it'll land on Xbox One remains to be seen (although it's worth remembering that Diablo 3 was originally announced for just PS3, but launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at the same time).
