CD Projekt Red has moved to reassure their fans that the recent delay to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not impact production on their other in-development role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077.

The delay to The Witcher 3 was announced earlier this week, with the RPG sequel now set to land on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in February 2015.

"Cyberpunk 2077 is developed by a separate team within CD Projekt Red, so the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is not really affected," company CEO Marcin Iwinski confirmed to Gamespot.

However, he did go on to say that some devs from the Cyberpunk team had been drafted in to assist with the delayed Witcher game: "In order to ship a huge RPG we do use help of certain team members between teams. It works this way between Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3."

With developers bouncing between projects, Iwinski said that lessons learned in one would aid development for the other: "We are working hard to deliver an outstanding RPG and rest assured, that all the learnings on The Witcher 3 are being applied to the Cyberpunk 2077 development," Iwinski concluded.
