Despite the console version of the game being censored in the UK, South Park: The Stick of Truth still managed to sell enough copies at retail to go straight to the top of the UK charts in its first week.

53% of the discs sold were for Xbox 360, 41% were PS3, and only 6% were on PC (although the foul-mouthed RPG is sitting pretty at the top of the Steam charts, and given that the game was uncensored on that platform, it's likely that it sold very well there as well). It's the first time that an RPG has been on top of the charts since last year's Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.

It's also one of only two games in this week's top ten that wasn't released on new-gen consoles (the other is the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft), proving that there's still life in the old consoles yet.

All games in the top ten sold less this week, although Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare only dropped 1%, meaning it was able to rise one place into third. Thief drops (silently and without being detected, presumably) from last week's first place, but only as far as second.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Ghosts has finally departed from the top five for the first time (albeit only to sixth, and probably not for long), and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag managed to cling on to its top ten place for another week.

The only other debut title this week, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, didn't manage to chart inside the top twenty, finishing as it did in twenty-first. Although it was able to chart above Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which dropped out of the top twenty after just one week (it's now in twenty-fourth).
