Fez is coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on March 26. The announcement came via the PlayStation Blog, which explains that Polytron's puzzle-platformer has been ported across to Sony's platforms by Blit Software.

The announcement, written by Polytron's Marie-Christine Bourdua, contained a few details of note. The PS4 version will be 1080p and 60 fps, whereas "a solid C++ conversion that runs smoothly at native resolution on PS Vita, and 720p at 60 frames per second on PS3."

While "you won't find many big additions in these versions of the game" there "are a few surprises, especially in the PS4 version: the DualShock 4's lightbar has been put to the task of bringing a little bit of FEZ's world inside your own home, and you may not need to look everywhere for that dusty pair of red/cyan glasses to get access to a very late-game easter egg... Funny story: to test the new 3DTV support, we had to spend a weekend running around computer shops to find a monitor that sports an integrated emitter. When we did though, and started up FEZ, our minds were forever expanded. I think we can see the fourth dimension now?"

Fez has been out in the wild for a couple of years now, and no doubt PlayStation fans will be interested to see what all the fuss is about. As for Fez II, there's still no word from Polytron, and as far as we know it remains cancelled.

REVIEW. Written by Ingo Delinger

"Fez manages to stand in the oversized footsteps of those Nintendo creations masterminded by Shigeru Miyamoto."
