It was revealed last week that the console version of South Park: The Stick of Truth would be censored in Europe at the behest of Ubisoft EMEA. Today we get to see what we'll be looking at instead of scenes depicting cartoon anal probing.

Reddit user DutchAmerican93 got a copy of the game earlier and shared a picture of one of the placeholder screens. The message on screen states: "You lose again, Europe. This scene, where you try to disable the forcefield around Randy but instead accidentally force the probing machine next to him to probe his ass with violent force, is not meant for your eyes. Randy, in obvious rectal pain, urges you to proceed forward."

What makes this placeholder image most frustrating for gamers is the news that the censorship was self-implemented, after VG247 reported that ratings body PEGI had confirmed that they had nothing to do with the decision, and that the final say rested with Ubisoft. It's also worth noting that the censorship will only affect console gamers, and those who buy the PC version of the game - even in Europe - will be able to 'enjoy' watching the anal probing scenes as many times as they like.
