Despite only being in alpha for a couple of days, the standalone version of DayZ can already boast some impressive stats. Bohemia Interactive's CEO Maruk Spanel revealed on his blog that in just 24 hours 172,500 copies of the game were sold, with 142,403 players heading online to check out the zombie apocalypse for themselves.
As Spanel stated, they're already uncovering a huge amount of bugs and issues (precisely why the game is released as an Early Access title). Dean "Rocket" Hall, the mods original creator and the man heading up the team on the standalone expansion, took to Twitter to warn players against signing up if they were expecting a finished product: "Please do not just buy the game because you heard it was cool."
As you can see from the screen capture attached below, after less than three days on sale, there's now close to quarter of a million DayZ survivors.
