Valve has lifted the last of the restrictions on their free-to-play Moba title, Dota 2. Now the game is accessible to everyone, and signups are no longer required for new players who want to join the fun.

"As we have recently completed a set of server management upgrades as well as released a huge number of enhancements to the new user experience, we're going to remove all restrictions to playing Dota 2," it explained on the Dota 2 blog.

The game came out of beta earlier this year, and since then Valve has been admitting new players into the action in waves, increasing their hardware capabilities incrementally to match demand (all the more impressive when you consider that the game now boasts 6.5 million monthly users).
