Two domain names - one for TheLasTofusMovie.net and the other for TheLasTofus-Movie.com - were registered on November 25, and as both can be linked to Sony Pictures, speculation that a movie is in the works is beginning to build.
Online brand protection agency MarkMonitor registered the domains, and the registrant emails are down as [email protected]. While that suggests that a film adaptation of the game is in Sony's thoughts, it doesn't mean that they're planning on making a movie anytime soon. It might just be a pre-emptive strike to ensure that the domains remain available should they be required further down the line.
We thought The Last of Us was one of the best titles of the year (you can read our review here), and the potency of its narrative would certainly lend itself to the big screen.
