Sengoku 3 - Retro Gameplay

Konami and Capcom were the kings of the arcade beat 'em up hill on the 90's, but SNK's last word would come in the form of the brilliant Sengoku 3 in 2001, which would become genre's best for the Neo Geo console. Take a look at its great sprites-based graphics and its varied character selection for a "you vs a ton of bad guys" experience which is obviously finer when in 2 players co-op mode. Besides a more modern setting, this entry introduced an interesting combo/special system and control scheme, all backed by a "shinobi gauge" you had to charge by means of chained hits. As you can see we're not half good yet with that system, for as newcomers we're not any close to the possible 80+ hit combos... and we actually have a hard time until the first boss encounter on the China level. Fun fact: the original 364 Mbit Neo Geo cartridge reached around 1.000 euro in online auctions.
