We occasionally hear about universities across the globe offering courses and degrees in esports, and now Staffordshire University in the UK is doing the same, with a focus on the business of esports, according to the UCAS page.

The UCAS page says that in this degree "you will learn how to host small and large scale events for single-player and multi-player teams, create business plans to develop teams, create on-line communities, and promote your events through digital marketing. You will also get the opportunity to explore the culture of esports, its audience and fan base and different game genres that make up the most popular in current times." It seems, then, that the degree will include aspects such as events management, marketing, and more.

Throughout the years on the course students will learn abou streaming, technical setups for events, organising an esports event, as well as legal issues involved with esports. This will all be taught by "academics com[ing] from a variety of backgrounds, including marketing, games design, interactive media technology, event management and esports practitioners."
